Karen Vassallo spent nearly twenty years working for HM Revenue and Customs, for the most part as an accounts investigator. Having been trained in double entry bookkeeping, accounts preparation and tax laws, she then left HMRC to follow a career in financial, accounts and tax management before starting her own firm in 2008.
